Real Craft. Real Collaboration.

Every book ends up being a team effort in the end, even for well-established authors. And why shouldn’t it be? Studies show what every great creator already knows: collaboration fuels creativity and drives results.

We believe your ghostwriter should do more than capture your voice and faithfully translate your ideas — they should elevate them. The right ghostwriter adds value through thoughtful collaboration: brainstorming new angles, refining structure, and being the first to bring your ideas fully to life on the page. When you hire OneTrueLine, you’re not just hiring a ghostwriter — you’re gaining a creative partner invested in your vision.

The “Human Authored” certification is issued byThe Authors Guild, the oldest and largest professional organization for writers in the United States. The certification is available for both author - written and ghostwritten books, so long as the Authors Guild's records-keeping requirements are maintained throughout the project. We'll manage this for you.

The OneTrueLine
5-Step Production Process

Step 1

Build Author-Writer Rapport

We meet clients in person, over the phone, and through video chat sessions. These meetings are memorialized by audio recordings, video playbacks, and transcriptions. Prior to beginning work, We take time to analyze your speaking style, diction, dialect, and other voice elements as you tell us about what you want to create and why.

Step 2

Outline

We provide outlines that are disciplined in scope, logically organized, yet flush with innovative ideas for your consideration.

Step 3

Open-Access Drafting

Our clients love open-access drafting. All draft work is done in the cloud in a shared doc, which you may access and inspect at any time. Authors may be as high or as low touch as they prefer throughout the entire writing process.

Step 4

Revision

It’s more often the case than not that certain essential themes of your story—elements you may not have even known were there—become manifest in the very act of writing it all down. During our revision, we’ll zoom in on your story’s hidden gems, we’ll backlight them nicely and let them shimmer. We’ll also check in on any and all promises made to your readers, ensuring we’ve delivered on them and satisfied all other key objectives for your work.

Step 5

Finalization and next steps

Once we have an excellent manuscript, OneTrueLine may, at the client's discretion, oversee any necessary post-production tasks, including copyediting, typesetting, graphics, ebook design, querying, and/or hiring of appropriate marketing consultants.

FAQs

Do I have to write anything myself?

Our job is to write. Your job is to inspire. Though the process depends on your input, your ghostwriter is responsible for faithfully capturing your voice and articulating your ideas into the written word.

What if I’ve already started writing my book — can you take over?

Yes. Whether you have a rough draft, a few chapters, or just scattered notes, we can step in, refine what you’ve written, and carry the project forward—always preserving your vision and voice while ensuring the final manuscript is polished and complete.

Who owns the rights to my book?

As the author, you retain full copyright and all rights to your book. Our role is to bring your ideas and voice to the page, but the finished manuscript belongs solely to you.

How much time will this take from me each week?

Two hours. Your job, as the author, is to review and provide feedback on the written materials. You do this by

1) participating in meetings with your writing team and

2) reviewing draft materials as they are produced.

Do you work with AI, or is everything written by a human?

Bottom line: we uphold a transparent production process that produces deliverables of uncompromising quality and integrity, aligned with both our standards and those of our clients.

For authors wishing to pursue a Human Authored™ certification through the Author's Guild, our commitment to facilitate the certification will be fully enumerated and guaranteed in your service agreement with OneTrueLine.

For authors wishing to leverage appropriate AI tools for research purposes or to accelerate, augment, or otherwise enhance production, plans to leverage such AI applications will be fully enumerated in your service agreement with OneTrueLine.

Can you help me get my book published and distributed?

Yes. While our core expertise is in guiding you through the writing and production of your book, we also support you in the crucial next step: getting it into the world. Depending on your goals, we can advise you on traditional publishing options or help you navigate hybrid and self-publishing paths.

For many authors, the fastest and most reliable route is professional self-publishing. In that case, we connect you with trusted partners for design, formatting, and distribution, ensuring your book is available through major retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and independent bookstores via IngramSpark. If you are pursuing traditional publishing, we can also assist with proposal development and introductions where appropriate.

In every case, we’ll help you align your publishing and distribution strategy with your goals—whether that’s building authority, reaching new clients, or sharing your story as widely as possible.
